CLASS INFORMATION

Grampians Wellbeing offers a variety of group classes and events.
Scroll down for general class info, class descriptions and how to make a booking.

GENERAL CLASS INFORMATION:
• You will need to be able to get up and down from your mat for all group classes & most events. If this isn’t an option for you, this doesn’t mean you can’t practice yoga but please book a private yoga appointment with me first to go over any alternatives/modifications that you can use in a group class and/or event.
• Weekly group yoga classes are held Stawell and Great Western.
STAWELL classes are held in the Overland Room at the Stawell Railway Station Gallery, 2 Napier Street, Stawell. The Gallery is part of the Stawell Railway Station building and you enter via the door to the right of the station. Look for the blue sign above the door saying ‘Railway Station Arts & Crafts Gallery’ {see pic below}.
GREAT WESTERN classes are held in the Function Room at the Great Western Racing & Recreation Reserve {the Racecourse}, 1098 Moyston-Great Western Road, Great Western {see map below}.
• Group yoga classes incorporate pranayama {breathwork}, asana {poses}, and savasana {the best bit at the end of each class where you lie down for mediation / relaxation!}.
• BYO mat. If you don’t have one, please let me know in advance and I’ll have one ready for you.
• Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the start of the class to give yourself time to get settled and ready to go.
• Stawell: Gallery doors are generally open 15 minutes prior to class and will be closed 5 minutes after class has started at the latest {or as soon as all registered students have arrived}. Unexpected things can always happen that may make you later than planned, but coming into class late is disruptive to other students who have already settled in to their practice, as well as to my teaching. The gallery door is locked for our privacy and for the safety of our belongings in Reception while we are in the Overland Room. If you are late and the gallery door is closed, you have unfortunately missed the class.
• Please switch your phone off or to silent before your practice.  Remember, this is your time – you don’t need to be interrupted and neither does anyone else enjoying the class.
• Wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move easily and bring any extra layers and props that you need to be comfortable {eg, socks, clothing, blanket, cushion, eye pillow}
• Avoid heavy meals for 1-2 hours prior to your practice.  The last thing you want is an uneasy feeling in your tummy during your practice!
• Complete your medical information {My Account / Medical Information} and let me know of any changes so I can keep you as safe as possible in your practice.
• Yoga helps build strength and flexibility by practicing and progressing at your level.  It is important to honour your body and where it is at on any given day.

SLOW FLOW YOGA:
Slow Vinyasa Yoga  ▸ All levels / Beginner friendly
Anyone who has been to one of my classes will know I love the flow of yoga and yoga technique so this class is a perfect mix of both! Slow Flow is a slower paced practice focusing on breath, technique and alignment while still retaining the gentle rhythm of a slow vinyasa class {flowing from one pose to the next with our breath}. This is a full spectrum class which includes seated, standing and laying poses. We start with pranayama/breathwork to centre and ground ourselves into our practice. We then warm up our joints and core before heading into the standing portion of our practice.  Here we practice foundational Sun Salutes and flows, standing strength and balance before moving back down to the floor for longer held poses to open and release through the body.  We finish in the most important pose of them all, savasana, where we rest and allow all the benefits of our practice sink in. Expect to feel more open and spacious in your body, your mind and your energy.

FLOW YOGA:
Vinyasa Yoga  ▸ Intermediate
The morning Flow class is one is for the early birds {or for those who know the chances of getting to an evening yoga class are non-existent!}.  Start your day right with breath, movement and rest.  This is a full spectrum yoga class meaning it includes seated, standing & laying poses.  We start our practice with pranayama/breathwork before warming up our joints and body ready for standing where we flow through movements with our breath (known as vinyasa). We might work towards a particular pose, flow sequence or opening/strengthening a particular part of the body before coming back down to the mat for a few juicy, longer held floor poses. We end with a restful savasana before heading off to tackle our day ahead feeling focused and refreshed!

SLOW FLOW RESTORE:
Slow Vinyasa Yoga + Restorative/Yin Yoga  ▸ All levels / Beginner friendly
*Bolster {or 1-2 firm bed pillows as an alternative} required.
This practice is the perfect mix of slow, flowy yoga finishing with long holds – a beautiful blend of my Slow Flow and Restore classes. We start with pranayama/breathwork and warming our joints, before moving into the Slow Flow portion of the practice. The second half of the practice is dedicated to Restorative/Yin – long held, mostly floor poses. Finishing with savasana – this practice is the perfect mix of breath, movement and stillness. Expect to feel spacious, calm and replenished.

RESTORE YOGA:
Restorative & Yin Yoga + Reiki  ▸ All levels / Beginner friendly
*Bolster {or 1-2 firm bed pillows as an alternative} required.
We spend a lot of our lives in our yang/’doing’ mode without taking enough time out to rest and restore our mind, body and energy in our yin mode, which is essential for our wellbeing.  This class is a mix of Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga where you can unfold, calm your nervous system and give back to yourself.  The practice is very slow and all floor based with no standing poses.  We start with pranayama/breathwork and after warming up, we move into longer held poses.  We support our bodies in some poses with a yoga bolster/yoga props so that we can fully let go in the pose or use the pose to affect the deep connective tissues of our body.  This assists with flexibility and helps keep our muscles healthy and happy. I also provide hands-on reiki during this practice but you always have the option to let me know if you don’t want that. Don’t forget to bring any comforts you need to enhance your practice {ie, blanket, cushion, eye pillow}. This class is deeply restorative for your mind, body and soul. Let yourself surrender into calm and stillness as you restore, reset and replenish your energy.

RENEW:
Breathwork, Meditation & Sound Healing ▸ All levels / Beginner friendly
Renew yourself with this very special offering.  All floor based {seated and laying}, this practice starts with pranayama/breathwork to help calm your nervous system.  This is followed with a Yoga Nidra/meditation designed to help give your busy mind a break from every day life and we finish with a sound healing where all you have to do is lay down, relax and let the sounds wash over you.  The sound healing can include crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, wind chimes, Tibetan tingsha bells and drums.  Absolutely no yoga, meditation or sound experience is necessary.  Bring any props you need to be super comfortable seated and laying {eg, bolster, blanket, eye pillow etc}. Expect to feel deeply, deeply relaxed ~ pure nourishment for your mind, body and soul.

POP UP YOGA:
All levels / Beginner friendly
Keep an eye out for my Pop Up classes! These group classes are general in nature, suitable for all levels but you do need to be able to get up and down from your mat. Usually they are held outdoors at Central Park Stawell {on the hill under the trees, Victoria Street/Cato side of the Park, overlooking the oval} so make sure you bring appropriate layers {for classes in cooler months} and sunscreen/sunnies {for classes in warmer months}. BYO mat if you have one or I usually have some spares available. Classes held outdoors are always weather dependent so if a class does not go ahead, I’ll be in touch to transfer or refund your booking.

YOGA FOUNDATIONS:
My Yoga Foundations Course is ideal if you are a beginner, new to yoga or would like a breakdown of technique and alignment cues for foundational yoga poses and Sun Salutations. If you haven’t been to a Grampians Wellbeing class before, this series will give you an amazing base of information and confidence to join! If you’ve been practicing for a while, this is also an opportunity to fine-tune your practice and make sure you are getting the most out of the poses you practice. If you have a yoga mat, please bring it otherwise I will have mats available. Please also bring a yoga bolster or cushion to sit on if that will be more comfortable for you, water, your Yoga Foundations PDF {which I will email to you before the series starts}, notepad and a pen.
