YOGA

WHERE ARE YOGA CLASSES HELD?
STAWELL yoga classes are held in the Overland Room at the Stawell Railway Station Gallery, 2 Napier Street, Stawell. The Gallery is part of the Stawell Railway Station building and you enter via the door to the right of the station. Look for the blue sign above the door saying ‘Railway Station Arts & Crafts Gallery’. There are plenty of parks available and the Gallery door is locked for privacy and security while classes are in session. There is a toilet and area to change clothes if you need to before class. I recommend you are settled in class 5 minutes before class starts. The Gallery doors are closed at the class start time {or when the last registered student has arrived} so if you are not in by then, you will miss out.

GREAT WESTERN yoga classes are held in the Function Room at the Great Western Racing & Recreation Reserve, 1098 Moyston-Great Western Road, Great Western.

DO I HAVE TO BE FLEXIBLE TO DO YOGA?
Absolutely not! Yoga helps build flexibility and strength but it doesn’t matter if you never touch your toes! For group yoga classes, you do need to be able to get up and down from your mat. If that’s not an option for you, please make an appointment to see me for a 1:1 Private Yoga session. We are all built differently and what’s most important is that you honour your body and where it’s at. Keeping yourself safe in a pose is the priority rather than pushing beyond your limits which can lead to injury.

WHAT TYPE OF YOGA/CLASSES DO YOU TEACH?
Grampians Wellbeing yoga classes are Vinyasa or Restorative Yin Yoga classes incorporating asana {poses}, pranayama {breathwork} and savasana {the best bit at the end of each class where you lie down for mediation / relaxation!}. I also offer events that can include other healing modalities such as sound healing.

WHAT DO I WEAR?
Whatever you want, as long as you are comfortable and you can move easily.

WHAT DO I BRING TO A YOGA CLASS?
BYO mat if you have one {let me know if you don’t and I’ll have one ready for you}, water and any extra layers you need to be comfortable {eg, socks, clothing, blanket, cushion, eye pillow}. A yoga bolster {or 1-2 bed pillows} is required for Slow Flow Restore and Restore class.

WHERE ARE PRIVATE SESSIONS HELD?
In my private treatment room at 59 Darcy Street, Stawell. Look for the Grampians Wellbeing sign next to the front door.

WHAT DO I BRING TO A PRIVATE SESSION?
Water and any layering you need to be comfortable.  I’ll provide the rest 🙂

REIKI

WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki {pronounced ‘ray-key’} is a Japanese natural healing therapy. We are all made up of energy and with or without knowing it, we can take on other people’s energy and hold negativity, stuck emotions and trauma in our bodies. Energy flows through our physical body via energy centres {Chakras} and pathways {Nadis}. When these become blocked, imbalanced, over or under active, it can a huge effect on how we feel physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  We often focus on our physical body {with diet, exercise etc} but this is just one part of us.  We also have mental, emotional and spiritual bodies and Reiki helps heal all of these bodies and bring us back into balance.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A REIKI SESSION?
You lay on your back on my Reiki table as I place my hands on or above you and channel Reiki healing energy into you. Every Reiki experience and practitioner is different and all you need to do is relax and enjoy!  Each healing is intuitively led and may include essential oils, chakra crystals, Emmett muscle release therapy and/or sound healing.

HOW WILL YOU FEEL AFTERWARDS?
You can feel energised, refreshed, lighter, more balanced and centered, less stressed, calmer and deeply relaxed. You’re also likely to have a better night’s sleep! Reiki can have a detox effect so hydrate and follow your body’s needs afterwards.  Reiki is cumulative and even though results after your first session may be subtle, it can provide progressively deeper experiences in each further healing.

WHERE DO I GO FOR MY REIKI APPOINTMENT?
All of my private sessions are held in my treatment room at 59 Darcy Street, Stawell. Look for the Grampians Wellbeing sign next to the front door.

WHAT DO I BRING?
Water and any layering you need to be comfortable.

HOW DOES DISTANT REIKI WORK?
Healing energy is sent to you energetically during a Distant Reiki healing.  We are all made up of energy and during the session, I tune into your energy and perform a reiki healing as if you were laying on my reiki table in front of me.  This type of healing is just as powerful, even though your presence is not required.  You don’t even need to stop what you are doing, although you may want to take this time out to rest and relax and tune into the healing energy being channeled to you.

DO I HAVE TO BE SPIRITUAL TO RECEIVE REIKI?
No, not at all! You just have to be open to receiving reiki energy.

SOUND HEALING

WHAT IS SOUND HEALING?
When we are stressed, unwell or feeling low, our vibrational state is low.  Sound healing frequencies can help to bring us back into our natural state of vibrational balance, activate our parasympathetic nervous system {our body’s rest & restore mode} and slow our brainwave state promoting deep relaxation and inward focus.  The instruments I use are Tibetan and Crystal Singing Bowls, Drums, Tibetan tingsha bells and wind chimes.
